Hi John, I keep coming back to this, your cover and the drums-only over and over. I've been trying to learn the song on and off since early 2017. I think it's time to get some discipline in and actually shed the stuff rather than trying to jam along to it. in isolation, the drums sound like when i used to hear my drum teacher experiment with beats and time signatures. with the soundtrack it makes all the sense in the world. though without the soundtrack i can understand what part of the song we are at. the insane ability to keep timing in danny carrey and john kew is remarkable. great 2 videos of rosetta stoned. i watch them everyday for motivation. much love and power to you john kew🤘🏽🤘🏽

Trying to count the polyrhythmic ratios without the rest of the band is way easier this way. Tool and Meshuggah (especially Clockworks in the latter case) songs always throw me off because there are so many layers of pulse that you can feel in different ways that it becomes difficult to nail them down without pulling some of them out of context. Thanks for this. It's clarified much.
